How it works

By continuosly charging an internal battery from the dynamo the dynline zero can provide power to a USB-C output and bicycle lights at the same time. It is made to optimally load the bicycle dymano to draw power efficiently via maximum power point tracking (MPPT).

This energy is stored internally in a high capacity Li-Ion cell where it can be retrieved at any time. This enables the lights to stay on after stopping. Additionally a phone or similar USB device can be charged simultaniously with a maximum current of 2.4A

Next generation electronics

A PCB packed to the brim with high end components. The heart is an ESP32 microcontroller with integrated Bluetooth (BT), which controls all the ins and outs.

Indicators for charging, light outputs, USB outputs and others are combined with a simple button interface to turn them on and off. An active rectifier ensures maximum efficiency while loading the dynamo in its optimal working point via maximum power point tracking (MPPT). Front and back lights can be modulated from 0% to 100%. The USB output is disabled if battery is low to ensure maximum safety and visibility.

Specs:

  • 5.5-20Vpp input voltage
  • 0-100kHz input frequency
  • AC and DC input
  • 1A maximum charging current
  • Separate front and back light dimming
  • Bluetooth BLE connectivity
  • 2.4A USB-C output

Waterproof without compromises

IP67 connectors, a sealed case and waterproofed buttons: dynline zero is made for rough conditions.

The connectors are rated for IP67/68 and very well suited for the rough conditions the dynline gets exposed to. Waterproofed case with o-ring gaskets and water lips. The USB output is IP67 rated and additionally has a seal to prevent water ingress. Buttons are molded out of silicone and withstand continuous pressing, water ingress is avoided by a tight seal and large overhang on the inside.

Light me home

Every regular 6V bicycle light now has a standing light option, safety first.

When stopping at traffic lights, stop signs, crosswalks and others, normal lights immediately cease lighting. The dynline can continue delivering 6V for the front and back while being stopped. This is a savety feature and makes driving at night a lot saver. If needed it will dimm down the lights to save battery and switch to a blinking mode for greater contrast.

Controlled via app

Battery percentage, riding speed, generated power and other stats can be read via the dynline app.
